Opposition

We had a good discussion in Sunday School about the Fall from the Garden of Eden and how it fit into Heavenly Father's plan of salvation. One of the points of discussion revolved around the idea of sin and why it was such a bad thing. We talked about how sins tend to become addictive, whether it is lying, gambling, drug use, or worst. These addiction start off as soft chains that become restricting and sometimes impossible to break. They are so bad because they restrict our free agency, which is a divine gift.

We also talked about opposition. I believe that opposition in all things is necessary. Opposition helps you focus on and appreciate the positive in your life. Adam and Eve had to leave Eden. Because they left, we have the opportunity to choose the right from our own free will, not because there are no other choices around. How much more powerful is our devotion to Heavenly Father when it comes from our own choice to do so! It's all part of the plan :)
