Description: Online students often come to distance education woefully underprepared for the challenges involved in taking online courses. Faculty members face the frustration of students who can’t use e-mail, discussion forums, plug-ins, and other essential tools. Instead of focusing on content delivery, instructors have to teach students how to use technology. Learn how Porterville College’s Becoming a Successful Online Student course improved student performance by immersing students in an online environment for an intense two-week orientation experience.
