Web Design Practicum Assignments
The practicum class is a hands-on workshop designed to give students experience in teamwork and collaboration, as well as an opportunity to create portfolio websites. I typically introduce Dreamweaver as a web site management tool.
Each student is paired up with a campus organization or instructor and works with them throughout the semester to develop a website. We work together in class to troubleshoot problems, brainstorm ideas, and develop production timelines.
Assessment
Students are assessed in this class on their participation, willingness to collaborate, and ability to bring the project to completion by the semester deadline. Assessment is done through peer reviews, "client" evaluations, self-reflection, and instructor feedback. Final projects are uploaded to the college server or personal web space of the client.
