March 31, 2007 ALL DAY! |
Location: |
Cerro Coso Community College Learning Resource Center |
Info: |
The problem: Cerro Coso has many, many old computers that can not be disposed of until the hard disks are sanitized and the asset number is logged. Due to lack of manpower, these machines sit in a warehouse. The solution: Let the campus technology club do the work, providing a great learning experience for the students and taking care of a long-standing issue. The outcome: Almost 100 old Pentium, Pentium II, and Pentium III machines were salvaged on the first day. Throughout the rest of Spring Break, another dozen computers were rebuilt and several others are ready to be worked on. |
